Local Governments Vs. Guv Tax Cut

The associations representing Idaho cities, counties and school boards all have come out against the initial draft bill the governor’s office released last week to phase out the personal property tax on business equipment, reports Kevin Richert of Idaho Education News. “The legislation will result in a significant shift in property tax burden to homeowners, farms, and small businesses,” the heads of the three associations wrote in a letter to Gov. Butch Otter on Friday; you can read Richert’s full report here, and read the letter here.

Question: Who said Gov. Otter doesn't fight for ideas (Luna Laws, personal property tax elimination) he believes in -- even if they're against the overwhelming will of most of his constituents?
