Jamie: Bike Signage Better In Boise

Jamie Lynn Morgan (RE: Bike Etiquette lacking in Coeur d'Alene): I live here and have visited Boise and can say that the signage for cyclists in Boise is much better than what we have here in Coeur d'Alene. In Boise the bicycle lanes are clearly marked and there are signs that tell you when you are supposed to be riding on the sidewalk, (which is not illegal unless the city ordinance states that it is. To my knowledge there is no where in North Idaho that does), Coeur d'Alene has limited signage and even the Centennial Trail has some areas where someone who doesn't know the trail ends up street side in neighborhoods. Even in the perfect situation there will be people who just aren't aware of the rules or etiquette and those that just don't care no matter how much "education" you provide. In the end it takes time and money, so the question then becomes...who is willing and who is going to pay for it.

Question: I do enough bike riding to agree that our signage in Coeur d'Alene isn't the greatest. Thoughts?
