Child Passenger Awareness Week

As part of Child Passenger Awareness Week, which begins Sunday and runs through Saturday, Sept. 21, Jessica Geiger performs a car safety seat inspection on 2-year-old Henry Matthews of Coeur d’Alene on Friday, while his mother, Sara Matthews, looks on. Geiger is the senior administrative assistant at the North Idaho College Children’s Center. She is a trained child passenger safety technician certified through Safe Kids Worldwide and inspected car seats throughout the day. Car crashes are the leading cause of death for children age 1 to 13 years old. More information on how to ensure a child’s seat is safe can be found here. (NIC Press Room photo: Tom Greene)

Question: Are you sure that your child passengers are properly seat-belted in?
