Wild Card/Thursday — 5.21.15

I've been re-reading the late Louise Shadduck's history of Coeur d'Alene, "The Edge of the Ice." And enjoying the way she connects the names of the pioneers to the places that we all know. Like Oscar Canfield (Canfield Mountain), who once hosted General William Tecumseh Sherman. And Tony Tubbs, the ambitious developer who platted part of the hill that bears his name and the downtown area. And George Goetzman's great-great-great-great-grandma who handled the reins and was nursing babes in driving her family of 8 children West. Great stuff for a great community. Here's your Thursday Wild Card ...
