Should CdA expand bike lanes

The current poll on the city of Coeur d'Alene web site asks: "Should the city continue to expand its bike lane system?" You can vote in the poll by following this link here.

Facts about city of Coeur d'Alene bike system:

  • This year, another 1.5 miles of bike lanes were added to Kathleen Ave. from Player Drive (at the Prairie Trail) to Honeysuckle, improving the east-west route in northern Coeur d’Alene.
  • The street department recently widened several miles of bike lanes across the city to improve safety.
  • The city has a total of 20 miles of bike lanes and 19 miles of trail for a total of 39 miles. In 1980, the city had just 3 miles of trail, along the U.S. Highway 95 corridor.
  • Coeur d'Alene was awarded “Bicycle Friendly Community” status in 2008 and again in 2012 by the League of American Bicyclists.
