PSAs: CdA firefighters change approach to Fill the Boot fundraiser

A press release from Coeur d'Alene Firefighters Local 710:

"The Coeur D’Alene Firefighters Local 710  has decided to no longer hold Fill the Boot in the streets of CDA. Following the death of a firefighter last year and the recent injury to another firefighter during a Fill the Boot this year, we feel that the safest way to continue this tradition is out of live traffic.

"CDA Firefighters will be at the store front of Fred Meyer from 9 to 4 collecting donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

"We are very hopeful that this change in venue does not affect the incredible generosity our community shows us each year.  We are frequently one of the largest contributors to MDA (muscular dystrophy association) in the State of Idaho.

"We will also be holding a fundraising night at Triple Play on September 16th, All proceeds going to MDA."
