Labrador: Sessions did right thing

Rep. Raúl Labrador, R-Idaho, issued the following statement upon Attorney General Sessions’ recusal from any potential investigation of allegations of a connection between the Trump campaign and Russian actors.

“Today, Attorney General Sessions did the right thing.  By recusing himself, he avoided any appearance of a conflict of interest in any future investigations into allegations of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian actors.

“While I don’t believe the Attorney General acted improperly in his Senate confirmation hearing, I do believe that transparency and trust require even the appearance of a conflict of interest be avoided.  I commend him for his quick actions to preserve the trust of all Americans in the impartiality of their justice system.”
