World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series At a Glance: Duel in the Dakotas & Nodak Speedway

Heading into the weekend, Donny Schatz holds a 50-point lead over Joey Saldana in the series championship standings, with 20-time series title winner Steve Kinser third and Jason Meyers fourth.

WHAT
• The World of Outlaws make their first of two trips to North Dakota this coming weekend for the annual Duel in the Dakotas at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks on Friday, June 19 and Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo in Saturday, June 20 before a trip across the state to Nodak Speedway in Minot on Sunday, June 21. Three-time and defending series champion and North Dakota native Donny Schatz won at River Cities Speedway last season, while it was Daryn Pittman taking the checkered flag at Red River Valley Speedway and Jason Meyers was victorious at Nodak Speedway. Heading into the weekend, Schatz holds a 50-point lead over Joey Saldana in the series championship standings, with 20-time series title winner Steve Kinser third and Meyers fourth.

WHEN
• On Friday, June 19 at River Cities Speedway, the pit gates will open at 2 p.m. Central, with the grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. Central and hot laps are set for 6 p.m. Central.

• On Saturday, June 20 at Red River Valley Speedway, the pit gates will open at 2 p.m. Central, with the grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. Central and hot laps set for 5:30 p.m. Central.

• On Sunday, June 21 at Nodak Speedway, the pit gates will open at 2 p.m. Central, with the grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. Central and hot laps are set for 6 p.m. Central.


WHERE
• River Cities Speedway is located in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Travel 1.6 miles east of I-29 (exit 141) on U.S. 2 (at the Greater Grand Forks Fairgrounds).

• Red River Valley Speedway is located in West Fargo, North Dakota. Take I-94 west of Fargo to exit 343, then go .7 miles east on I-10 (on the Red River Valley Fairgrounds).

• Nodak Speedway is located in Minot, North Dakota, at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds, east of downtown on Business U.S. 2

• Red River Valley Speedway is a high-banked half-mile oval. The track record of 14.786 seconds was established by Craig Dollansky on July 4, 2002.

• Nodak Speedway is a high-banked 3/8-mile oval. The track record of 13.331 seconds at 101.268 mph was established by Donny Schatz on August 14, 2007.
