HUNTING -- A popular 9,000-acre hunter access property in Kittitas County has changed from the state's Hunt By Written Permission program to the on-line Hunt By Reservation system, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife  has announced.

Puget Sound Energy’s (PSE) Wild Horse Wind Farm in Kittitas County near Vantage provides hunter access to a big chunk of land in  Game Management Unit 329.

All hunters must obtain an access permit through the online reservation system to hunt on the property. Permits will no longer be issued at the Wild Horse visitor center.

During the Oct. 29-Nov. 8 modern firearm elk season, 50 daily permits will be issued through the reservation system. 

During all other hunting seasons, permits will be unlimited but issued through the reservation system.

Reservations can be made starting two weeks in advance.

PSE also offers special access opportunities to hunters with lower extremity mobility disabilities through a limited permit drawing administered by WDFW's Disabled Hunter Road Access Entry Program.
