Wake Forest on GU’s schedule

Some news out of Colorado Springs where Mark Few is serving as a court coach for the U19 and World University Games team tryouts. Sounds like Wake Forest will visit the Kennel this season with a return game also planned.

Read on.

This is from an ESPN.com post:

• Gonzaga has a hole to fill now after Austin Daye's decision to stay in the draft, but coach Mark Few isn't shying away from a highly respected nonconference schedule once again. The Zags will play in the Maui Invitational with Maryland as the other marquee team (don't sleep on Arizona early either), host Wake Forest in the Kennel in Spokane (good for Dino Gaudio to play a true home-and-home series), go to Michigan State (another shout-out to Tom Izzo for playing a true home-and-home with the return at the Kennel), draw Duke at Madison Square Garden and also play Illinois at the United Center in Chicago. The Illini series is a four-year deal with the next game in Seattle and then to Champaign in year three and back to the Kennel in year four. Few was here in Colorado Springs as a court coach. Illinois coach Bruce Weber was on the junior national team selection committee.
