Meyer to Utah, Brookins to San Jose

Erik Meyer, who backed up Shock starting quarterback Kyle Rowley last season, has signed with the Utah Blaze. The former Eastern Washington Eagle will be reunited with ex-Shock offensive coordinator Matt Sauk, who accepted a similar position with the Blaze. Meyer will compete with former Oklahoma City starting QB Tommy Grady, who recently signed with Utah.

More here (Oops: Blaze press release incorrectly spells his name 'Eric.').

Former Shock DB Mervin Brookins, who had an interception in the ArenaBowl, has signed with San Jose. Brookins is a Sacramento native and played at Sacramento City College. More here.

Ex-Shock lineman Brenden Hall, who was traded by Spokane early on last season, has signed with Georgia and LB Kelvin Morris (Shock 2007) has signed with Chicago. He played for Arizona last season.
