“Twelfth Night”

May 21, 2017

The joyous romp that is the National Theatre production is the most fun you’re ever likely to have at a Shakespeare play. And in the current climate of gender fluidity, it is perhaps inevitable that there would be some unorthodox casting of this classic comedy of mistaken identities and wayward romance. As the characters revolve around each other in a lovelorn dance of passion and unrequited love, so does the giant staircase on the big onstage turntable, revealing as it turns each place where the characters discover the almost never ending facets of love.
