John Carpenter’s 1982 fantasy-sci-fi hit is back for another round on the big screen starring Kurt Russell and Richard Dysart in The Thing. Travel to remote Antarctica, where a group of research scientists are puzzled when a helicopter shoots a sled dog near their base camp. Things take a much darker and violent turn when the scientists bring the dog back to camp only to find that it brutally attacks crew members and their canines. It also assumes the shape of its victims. A helicopter pilot (Russell) and camp doctor (Dysart) engage in a gruesome battle against the beast to save their crew. Rated R.
