Schirmann is the author of “Popular Music” and the co-author, with Tyler Brewington, of “Boyfriend Mountain” and “Nature Machine.” Akbar’s poems appear recently in The New Yorker, Poetry, The New York Times, The Nation, Paris Review and elsewhere.
