Quilts: A Brief History and How to Care for Them

The MAC’s collection of quilts offers a glimpse into the history of American quilt making. In conjunction with the museum exhibition “Memory and Meaning: Textiles from the Permanent Collection”, textile researcher Dana Fobes Bowne will explore this topic using images of the Museum’s quilt collection as illustration then lead you on a rare opportunity to privately view several quilts in the Museum’s collection that are too fragile to exhibit.
