The opening night of Spokane International Film Festival featuring local short films. 6 p.m., SpIFF Social Hour, with food, drink and a no-host bar. 7 p.m., Best of Northwest shorts. 9 p.m., “Quiet Explosions: Healing the Brain,” a documentary about traumatic brain injury, featuring Mark Rypien (Jerri Sher, US, 99 minutes).
