As a starter, make a Veloute a la du Barry, a cauliflower soup invented in the eighteenth century for Jeanne du Barry, mistress of King Louis XV. Followed by a Marmitte de la mer, a seafood and fish stew with their colorful vegetables served in a white wine, shallots cream sauce. For dessert, make a baker’s specialty from Paris, a flan Parisien.
