Samantha Shivvers models in a photo by Jake Donovan. Said Donovan: “My inspiration really came from the cuffs of the dress. It’s more of a robe than a dress and has old-fashioned, 1800s-style cuffs. This unique style inspired Samantha and I to combine elegance with mystery to create what feels like a scene from a fairy tale.”

“Electric Nights,” by Chris Wooley with model Aubrey Shimek Davis. Said Wooley: “During our session, we started experimenting with movement and motion in the dress. One of the images reminded me of the long-running British Sci-Fi TV show “Doctor Who.” I digitally combined the image with a photo of the colorful lights of the Riverfront Park Pavillion, along with other elements to show movement and energy.”

John Austin said, “I knew immediately who I wanted to feature as my model. Ilsa is an up-and-coming model and has what it takes to make it big. She’s just graduated high school and with her looks and stature and ease at posing already, she’s ready for prime-time. ... I think Ilsa made the dress look amazing. I hope our bidders agree,” photographer John Austin said of model Ilsa White, both of Spokane. The photo shoot was done on Merlyn’s Comics and Games Building rooftop.

Rachel Fellows of Spokane Valley said her inspiration for the project is “Ziegfeld Girl meets 2021. The color of the dress is a nod to a ‘silver lining’ when thinking about the pandemic, stress and uncertainties of the past year.” Model Nicole Brianna is a Spokane-based dancer, teacher and businesswoman.
