The Spokesman-Review wishes you and yours a wonderful Christmas season. Amid a pandemic, however, you may need more reason. So, may we suggest these pups who went astray? They all need a warm, loving home for Christmas Day. For all ages, whether girl or boy, pets bring tidings of comfort and joy. As part of our yearly Christmas Card, we urge adopting thees mutts on display, because everyone-even animals-deserve a home for the holiday. Santa, Rick Clark, and elves, Alice Rogers-Brunt, 8, and Hazel Rogers-Brunt, 11, hold puppies up for adoption at the Spokane Humane Society.

Christmas card 2019-This holiday season, we turned The Spokesman-Review tower into Santa's workshop. Thanks to WestCoast Window Cleaning, Inc., this Santa isn't afraid of heights. Using full safety harnesses and climbing skills, Travis Green as Santa Claus and Geoff Morris as a Christmas elf climbed the spire of the 1891 Review Tower, where they perform regular maintenance and window cleaning, for our Christmas card photo to our readers. Travis Green is not a stranger to dressing up and climbing buildings. He also dressed as Superman in the Superhero 4 Kids campaign at Providence Sacred Heart Children's Hospital, where he rappelled down the building and hung upside down to entertain the kids there. Spokesman-Review photographer Jesse Tinsley took the photo with a DJI Mavic Pro quadcopter.

Christmas card 2017-After making a list, and checking it twice, Santa found a heftier-than-average naughty list this year. To lift his spirits, the jolly fellow brought his crew to Spokane to see its new downtown spectacle...and to do a little skating himself. He loved it so much that a bunch of people were moved back to the nice list.

Christmas card 2016-It was the list. You know the one. The naughty and nice. And the big guy in the red suit was checking it twice. With the fire crackling, the cookies fresh, and the marshmallows toasted perfectly, it was clear the gifts everyone truly craved were peace, joy and goodwill.
