Schweitzer Mountain Resort

One hour and twenty minutes north of Coeur d’Alene, Schweitzer Mountain resort claims 300 inches of snow annually. Schweitzer has 2,900 skiable acres and a 2,400-foot vertical drop. Its runs are 10% beginner, 40% intermediate, 35% advanced and 15% expert. There are nine lifts, including two surface lifts, three double chairs, one triple chair, two high-speed quads, and Stella, Idaho’s only six-person, high-speed lift. Facilities include a day lodge, outdoor apparel and gift shops, a general store, restaurants, pubs, cafes, several full bars and a chapel. A ski school, day care, special children’s programs and rental services are available. Snowboarding, cross-country ski trails, cat skiing, snowmobiling, tubing, and on-mountain lodging are also available.
