Kelsey Auer scored 11 points and St. Maries defeated Coeur d'Alene Charter in the opening round of the Central Idaho League District Tournament at Troy, Idaho. CDA Charter was led by Mae Alexander with 14 points. Both teams will play again on Monday night with St. Maries meeting Grangeville at 6 p.m. and CDA Charter playing Orofino in a loser out game at 7:30. Both games again will be played in Troy.

Coeur d'Alene Charter 37, Valley Christian 31

Mae Alexander scored 20 points and and Coeur d'Alene Charter overcame a 13 point first quarter deficit to win a nonleague game at Valley Christian. Valley Christian was dealt a big blow at the start of the second half when leading scorer Bradi Harding-who scored 12 of her 15 points in the first quarter-left the game with an injury.
