SEATTLE – Like his outings, Brandon Maurer’s time in the Mariners’ rotation is getting shorter and shorter. The beleaguered 23-year-old right-hander couldn’t get out of the fifth inning Saturday, allowing six runs in another sluggish, stunted start. Houston rookie George Springer homered twice off Maurer, leading the Astros to a 9-4 victory before 21,585 at Safeco Field.
