Vaughn continues bringing the tunes to Beverly’s bar

It’s a recent Thursday night in the Lakeview Lounge, the posh bar on the seventh floor of the Coeur d’Alene Resort, and Robert Vaughn is getting “discovered” again. This has happened to the singer/guitar player so many times that Vaughn, 63, couldn’t begin to give you a number. The only difference this time is that I’m here to watch the mini-drama unfold.

Best Buy Surplus, 2516 E. Sprague, is celebrating its 70th birthday this year. Or its 71st birthday, depending on what source you believe. But it doesn’t really matter. The great thing about this Spokane landmark is the sense of timelessness you feel when you wander through the front door.
