Buffaloes stomp all over Cougars

BOULDER, Colo. – The setup for the opening minutes of Saturday’s game against Colorado could hardly have been better for Washington State. The reality could hardly have been worse.

Tempo the key for Cougars against Buffaloes

BOULDER, Colo. – Washington State may have dropped a pair of games against the Pac-12’s top two defenses, but the Cougars’ recent slide is nothing compared to what Colorado’s going through. Consider the Buffaloes, who have lost their last four games, their longest losing streak in as many years. The Cougars will try to prolong CU’s misery and pick up their third Pac-12 road win in today’s 5 p.m. game. Similar to last season’s loss of Spencer Dinwiddie, the Buffaloes have struggled to overcome injuries.

No. 12 Utah takes advantage of Washington State turnovers

SALT LAKE CITY – As the coaches emptied their benches while the final minutes played out in No. 12 Utah’s 86-64 victory over Washington State, the Utah student section chanted “fundamentals” at the visitors. Those celebratory crows are seldom memorable and even less often substantial, but in this case the Cougars may do well to consider those taunts as friendly reminders.

Cougars face difficult road test against No. 12 Utes

PULLMAN – A good offense, great defense, hostile crowd and an opponent coming home after its first Pac-12 loss will likely make Washington State’s game tonight at Utah its toughest of the season. Because the Cougars do not visit No. 7 Arizona in 2014-15, No. 12 Utah will almost certainly be WSU’s most highly ranked league road opponent. The Huntsman Center, which averages more than 11,000 fans per game, has proved to be one of the Pac-12’s most imposing venues.
