Spokane police investigating potential co-conspirator in case of woman found strangled to death in burning car

Police have requested to search the phone of one of Yasir Darraji’s close friends who lives within two blocks of the crime scene, according to court documents. The friend, who has not been charged with a crime, was also seen on security camera footage at a Rosauers grocery store near the crime scene about an hour before Darraji’s wife, Ibtihal Darraji, was found dead.

Spokane man gets 19 years in prison for killing girlfriend; judge notes speedy guilty plea at sentencing

Spokane County Superior Court Judge John Cooney agreed with the family and friends of Alicia Johnson – the 24-year-old slain by her boyfriend, Joshua M. Forester – that the agreed upon sentence of just over 19 years in prison was too light a punishment for her killer. He cited Forrester’s speedy guilty plea as a reason for handing down the light sentence Wednesday.
