When Central Valley and East Valley play a season-ending non-league football game tonight at EV, both coaches will be more interested in other results.

These are busy times for North Side athletes now hurtling into the post-season.
Cross country runners compete in the state meet this Saturday in Pasco. A bevy of North Siders helped Spokane reinforce its reputation as the state's distance hotbed.
University High's boys and girls teams are in Richland today attempting to qualify for state cross country meets.
Three teams and the top 15 individuals advance from regional competition, which begins at 12:55 p.m. at Carmichael Middle School.

Next Wednesday, Frontier League schools will compete for two team and 10 individual State AA cross country berths.
The district meet, at Hangman Valley Golf Course, begins at 11 a.m.
East Valley's boys and girls teams are favored after completing unbeaten seasons on Thursday.
Two years ago, East Valley High began preparing itself to move from the Frontier League to the Greater Spokane League for the 1997-98 activities season.
Then the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association added another enrollment classification which has created a minor hangup.

It seems impossible but Friday's East Valley-West Valley football game could mark the end of an era.
