Get A Hunch, Bet A Bunch

With a statewide simulcast to plump up the betting pools, there will be stiff competition on the track, particularly in the sixth race, where it’s easy to make a case for all 10 starters.

El Cabrio, as honest as they come, has his work cut out in the feature, which might be a little short for him.

Chinese Pirate, a badly beaten favorite, deserves another chance after jumping a shadow on the stretch turn. Capote Okie also merits another look. He has drawn the rail in the four-furlong fourth race after failing to break alertly in his debut.

In the 10th, County Agent seems much better placed after two decent efforts in tough company.

Here are tonight’s selections:

$5 daily double combining CHINESE PIRATE in the first race with LU LU’S SONSHINE in the second race and $2 doubles pairing CHINESE PIRATE with REGAL RANGER in the second and JUSTHASTOBEPROUD and CHALLENGER CRUZ in the first with LU LU’S SONSHINE ($6).

$10 to win on LU LU’S SONSHINE.

FOURTH: $5 to win on CAPOTE OKIE. $2 exacta using CAPOTE OKIE as the key with BINN FIBBEN, GO BIG AL and BANKERS MISTRESS ($6).

FIFTH: $5 to win on VALENTINE KNIGHT.

NINTH: $2 quinella box combining FINNISH ROYALTY, SUBSTANCE OF FIRE and EL CABRIO ($6).

TENTH: $1 trifecta box combining COUNTY AGENT, ECKLER MT. ROAD and TOUCHA FLIER ($12).

Original bankroll: $3,000.

Saturday: Lost $50.

Sunday: Lost $37.

Present bankroll: $2,448.30.
