Itron Board Picks Demerritt, Peters

Ted DeMerritt, chairman of Olivetti North America, has been named to the board of another Spokane high-tech company, Itron Inc.

Silicon Valley marketing consultant Mary Ann Peters was also appointed, according to a Friday announcement by Itron.

DeMerritt has been with Olivetti and ISC Systems Inc., which Olivetti purchased, since 1980. Previously, he had been with Sacramento Savings & Loan.

Peters is a principal in Palo Alto-based McGillicuddy & Peters, which she founded 10 years ago. Her experience includes marketing positions with several high-tech companies, and Wells Fargo Bank.

Itron makes portable data-collections systems for utilities.
