An employee at Sound Mart, 6125 Sunshine, reported Saturday that while installing a stereo for a customer, 29 personal checks wrote to Resort Collections and a deposit slip were found hidden under the carpet. Cash to be deposited in the amount of $1,056 was missing. Owner of the car reported that he didn’t know the money was missing and said the employees of Sound Mart must have taken the money while installing the stereo.

Tracy Paola reported Aug. 1 the theft of $300 from her purse while she was staying with a friend in the 1000 block of 17th St.

Russell Estes, 96, reported Saturday that a man offered to repair his roof for $557, Estes paid him with a check before he did the work. The man left before doing the work and never returned.

Michael Morgenstern, Bainbridge, Wash., reported the $525 theft of Leitz binoculars from his car while he was eating lunch in Coeur d’Alene.

Laura Seable, an office manager for the Coeur d’Alene Community Theatre, reported Sunday the theft of $622 in cash from the theater, 1320 Garden Ave., and that her purse which included a check to the theater for $450 was stolen from the back seat of her unlocked car parked while it was parked at 15th and Maple Avenue.

Barbara McGinnis reported Saturday that while her car was parked at North Idaho College, someone slashed the convertible top and its protective boot covering, causing $1,000 in damage.

Zoltan Karash, a bartender for 1210 Tavern, reported Sunday the theft of $1,782 from the bar, 1210 Sherman Ave.

Jessi Taylor, reported Friday the $350 theft of three bicycles from the Coeur d’Alene Cinemas, 3555 N. Government Way.

James Nelson reported Sunday that his 10-speed bike was stolen from his home in the 100 block of Anton. The bike’s value is estimated at $350.

Jay Newton, Coeur d’Alene, reported Friday that his $300 mountain bike was stolen while he was at Paddy’s Bar, 601 Appleway.

Larry Ott reported Friday that sometime between July 31 and Aug. 8 a $1,000 gold nugget was stolen from his lake home near Harrison.

Cynthia Bates, program director for Camp Four Echos reported Sunday the theft of a cash register, a TV/VCR combination, six video tapes and computer. Total loss is estimated at $2,020.

Ronald Meldrum reported Saturday that sometime between Aug. 2-12 his cabin at Powder Horn Bay, Coeur d’Alene Lake, was broken into and power tools estimated to be worth $700 were stolen.

Ray Bolon reported Sunday the $1,500 theft of a Johnson outboard motor from his boat parked in his backyard in the 9300 block of Hayden.

Eric Lyon reported Thursday the $749 theft of a Husqvarna chainsaw from his home in the 10200 block of Skyview, Hayden.

Nina Thompson, 8600 block of Hayden, reported Thursday that she had hired someone to repair her roof for $425, he worked for 20 minutes, said he need another $125 for supplies, which he left to get and never returned.

Ann Beutler reported Friday the theft of a 1992 Oldsmobile Bravada from her residence on the 3800 block of Shoreline Drive.

Denise Clark reported Friday the theft of a 1987 Mazda 4X4 pickup from the alley beside Rob’s Drive In, 101 West Seltice Way.

BONNER COUNTY< SHERIFF Donald Endicott, Priest River, reported Fri day the theft of a CD player, tools and several watches from his home. The items were valued at $410.

Rebecca Hawkins, Sandpoint, reported Friday the theft of a small tractor, valued at $5,000, from the Syringa Heights area.

James Nestell, Rathdrum, reported Saturday the theft of a $1,000 aluminum boat from a dock at Cocolalla Lake.
