Local Students Serve As Legislative Pages

The following students served as legislative pages for a week in Olympia:

Natilee Johnson, 15, is the daughter of Melinda Johnson, Spokane, and Jim Johnson, Moses Lake. She is a student at Gonzaga Preparatory School where she is active in volleyball, swimming and horseback riding as well as being a member of the school choir. She was sponsored by Sen. Jim West.

Sarah Holmes, 14, daughter of Debra and John Holmes, Otis Orchards, is homeschooled. She plays the cello with the Junior Orchestra of Spokane. She was sponsored by Sen. Eugene Prince.

Carmel McGuire, 15, daughter of Charlene and Mike McGuire, is a sophomore at Ferris High School. She was sponsored by Rep. Denny Dellwo at the House of Representatives.

Amanda Butler, 15, daughter of Susan and Larry Butler, is a sophomore at Ferris High School and was also sponsored by Dellwo.

Tracy Lucas, associate broker at Kiemle & Hagood Company, has been awarded the 1994 Leasing Excellence Award by Pentzer Development Corp., owners and managers of the Spokane Business and Industrial Park. He was recognized for his outstanding performance and professionalism.

Girl Scouts Inland Empire Council has announced that the following Scouts have received their religious recognition awards:

The Protestant “God and Me” religious recognition was awarded to Brownie Girl Scouts Elizabeth Gulick and Candace Ward of Troop 420; Marissa Caryl of Troop 136; and Emily Blunt of Troop 567.

Junior Girl Scouts receiving the “God and Family” religious recognition were: Sara DeCristoforo, Becky Carpenter and Alayna Caryl of Troop 138; Gillian West of Troop 529; and Brownie Girl Scout Hayley Olson of Troop 136.

The Catholic “I Live My Faith” Religious Recognition was awarded to Junior Girl Scouts Alison Caputo, Linda Doyle, Leanne Brandon and Sara Korsmo of Troop 536; and Kathleen Korsmo of Troop 119.

Jeff Crutcher, a senior at Whitworth College majoring in elementary education, has been named to the Laureate Society for academic achievement. He is the son of Dale and Marilyn Crutcher, Rosalia, Wash.
