Samsung Scouting Oregon For Plant Site

Samsung Electronics Co. is considering building a computer chip factory in Oregon that would employ 1,200 people, the company said.

The factory would cost between $1.2 billion and $1.5 billion, company official K.W. Kim said Tuesday.

A published report said Samsung was concentrating its search on sites in Multnomah and Washington counties.
