School Board To Set Times For Supplemental Levy Election

Compiled From Wire Services

The supplemental levy election is on the agenda of the Coeur d’Alene School Board tonight.

At its last meeting, the board agreed to ask voters this spring to pass a $2.97 million supplemental levy. The levy would be effective over the next two years, and would replace the $2.47 million levy that expires this year.

The school board set the date of the levy election for May 2. At today’s meeting, the board is expected to approve polling times and locations.

In other business, the administration will discuss enrollment figures and crowded conditions at Ramsey and Hayden Meadows elementary schools.

With increasing enrollment, and the need to devote five classrooms in five different schools to technology next year, the district needs to adjust attendance zones among the nine elementaries. The board is not expected to make a decision on that tonight.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the school district headquarters, 311 N. 10th St.
