Trucker Admits Second Killing
A trucker suspected in a string of slayings along interstate highways has confessed to a second killing, police say.
Sean Patrick Goble of Asheboro told authorities he killed an Ohio woman whose body was found in March off Interstate 81 in Kingsport, Tenn., Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Barker said.
Rebecca Alice Hanes, 36, a prostitute, had been suffocated. Her pocketbook was found in Goble’s tractortrailer cab, Barker said.
Goble, 28, admitted to another killing after his arrest Thursday in North Carolina, police say. He confessed to strangling Brenda Sue Hagy, 45, of Bloomington, Ind., in January and dumping her body along I-81 in Virginia, police said.
Hagy’s death fit a pattern of killings in at least seven states.
Police tracked down Goble from fingerprints found on a plastic bag near Hagy’s body.
