Boise Cascade Names Harad As Chairman

Paper-wood products company Boise Cascade Corp. on Friday named president and chief executive officer George J. Harad chairman of its board of directors.

Harad, 50, succeeds John B. Fery who retired Friday after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 65. Harad succeeded Fery as Boise Cascade’s chief executive officer in July but Fery continued as board chairman until Friday.

Harad would continue as chief executive but would relinquish the president’s title, the company said.

Harad, a 24-year veteran with the company, became president and chief operating officer and a director in 1991.
