Habitat Will Dedicate First Condoplex
If you consider yourself a combat-worn soldier in the battle to keep up with home and garden chores, take a break and visit the homes of the Gnehm and Lindsey families.
They soon will be the proud occupants of the most recent project of Habitat for Humanity Spokane. Spending free time working around the house will be a habit they will be glad to get into.
Habitat Spokane will dedicate its first completed condoplex housing unit for low-income familes at an open house and dedication ceremony Tuesday at the corner of Fifth and Crestline. The units were built by volunteers from the Gonzaga University School of Education, Partners for Humanity and Habitat Spokane.
Due to the increase in property costs and availability, Habitat Spokane has had to start housing two families on a lot when possible. One other two-family project is currently being built and a two-family women’s house project will begin this spring.
Habitat for Humanity International is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing. Habitat works in partnership with people in need throughout the world building simple, decent shelter that is sold to them at no profit through no-interest loans.
