Simpson Jurors Talk With Judge Ito Again

Compiled From Wire Services

Insurgent jurors in the O.J. Simpson murder trial returned to the courthouse Monday for private meetings with Superior Court Judge Lance A. Ito, who sources said appears to have defused a crisis that last week threatened to push the proceedings toward mistrial.

Ito spent the day winding up a delicate round of counseling jurors and also met behind closed doors with five employees of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, including three deputies ousted from the jury detail at Ito’s request.

Testimony was expected to resume today.
