Nathan Landt Awarded Merit Scholarship

Nathan J. Landt, a 1995 graduate of Hellgate High School in Missoula, was recently awarded a Merit Scholarship. Scholarship winners are chosen from among 14,000 finalists who have met high academic standards, been endorsed and recommended by the high school principal and completed a second PSAT/NMSQT to confirm their qualifying test performance.

Barry Curry, owner of Thrifty Car Rental stores in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene, was named one of the top 20 U.S. performers within car rental franchise system. He earned a 10-day “Cradle of Civilization” trip to Greece and Turkey. He has been affiliated with Thrifty since 1978.

Marisa Hegbloom of Wallace High School, received a $500 scholarship from LEO’S Photography for writing a winning essay explaining how involvement with youth sports or activities had a positive impact on students’ academics. Winners were selected by a group of area youth league presidents and officials.

Re/Max Pacific Northwest Inc. recently named Dennis Quinn, sales associate with Re/Max Preferred Realtors, as a Top Sales Associate for Idaho. At the same time, Quinn was also recognized as a top sales associates in the Pacific Northwest. His office is in Coeur d’Alene.

Sabrina Suzanne Landreth, a senior at Lake City High School in Coeur d’Alene, was named runner-up in the Idaho division of the 1994-95 Commodity Challenge, sponsored by the Chicago Board of Trade and coordinated by the Idaho Center for Economic Education at Boise State University.

Alisha and Alexander Wolfe, brother and sister from Sagle (Idaho) Elementary School, both received honorable mention awards for their posters created for the American Automobile Association’s 51st annual School Traffic Safety Poster Program. Alisha, a sixth-grade student, created a poster with the theme “Help Your Safety Patrol.” Alexander, in the first grade, made a poster on “Walk Facing Traffic.”

Jerry Adams, production supervisor at the University of Idaho Agricultural Communications Center, was selected by the Agricultural Communicators in Education as winner of the 1995 ACE Award of Excellence for Publications. Adams was recognized for his efforts to promote “excellence and creativity” in UI College of Agriculture publications. He also received two ACE Silver Awards this year.
