Robert Turnipseed Elected To Shriner’s Directors Board

Robert Turnipseed, Hayden Lake, has been re-elected to serve a sixth term on the international boards of directors for the Shrine of North America and the Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children system.

Turnipseed, elected during the fraternity’s convention, will serve as the Shrine’s imperial oriental guide to help regulate the Shrine. He also serves on the Shriners Hospital’s building and equipment committee.

Frank Bennett, Pam Jank and Ray Spencer, sales associates at Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty in Coeur d’Alene, have earned the company’s previews property specialist designation. The national program requires a certification course that covers everything from market analysis for luxury homes to a national computer network to view distinctive homes.

Pat Lee of Post Falls has completed certification requirements for equine sports massage therapy through Equissage and Associates in Round Hill, Va. Lee studied the theory of massage therapy for horses and its benefits, as well as hands-on technique. The massage therapy is said to enhance the performance of equine athletes and assist the horse in reaching full potential.

Tom Albertson and Richard Nathanson, Sandpoint High School teachers, will share a $12,000 GTE grant for math and science education during the 1995-96 school year. Albertson and Nathanson submitted winning proposals to GTE’s “Growth Initiatives for Teachers” (GIFT) program, which encourages excellence in mathematics and science education. Albertson teaches math and Nathanson is a science teacher.

Shawn C. Byram, Navy airman apprentice, received a letter of appreciation while assigned with Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron 132, Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Oak Harbor, Wash.

Byram, son of Robert and Susan Byram of Coeur d’Alene, was cited for superior performance of duty. He is a 1991 graduate of Post Falls High School and joined the Navy in 1992.
