Taylor Seeks Treatment

Compiled From Wire Services

University of Montana men’s basketball coach Blaine Taylor has been granted an unpaid leave of absence to check into an alcohol treatment center.

“He will return when he feels he has his problem under control, hopefully in a month,” school president George Dennison said.

Taylor was charged with drunken driving last Friday in Bigfork after a security guard at a local motel reported that a pickup truck knocked over a light post. Officers looking for a pickup matching that description found it in a church parking lot nearby, with Taylor asleep inside.

Taylor’s blood alcohol level was .247, nearly 2-1/2 times the legal limit for driving in Montana.
