Gamecocks Fail Test

Three University of South Carolina athletes apparently were given passing grades on astronomy tests they actually failed.

A university spokesman in Columbia, S.C., who asked to remain unidentified, confirmed that a “minimal” group of players received the passing grades, but he refused to say exactly how many.

WIS-TV of Columbia reported two Gamecocks football players and one basketball player were involved.

The infractions are not violations of NCAA rules, the university spokesman said.
