Daniel, Geddes On Top

Beth Daniel and Jane Geddes shot 7-under-par 65s to share a one-stroke firstround lead in the $450,000 LPGA PINGWelch’s Championship.

Daniel, playing in the morning, had four birdies on the final four holes, and her score stood up until late in the day when Geddes scored a birdie on her 16th hole to pull even.

Robin Walton of Clarkston shot a 72 and Tracy Hanson of Rathdrum, Idaho, finished with a 73.
