Griz Aides Fired For Drug Use
Two University of Montana student assistant football coaches have been dismissed and a player faces disciplinary action after an incident involving marijuana use on campus this week.
Former Grizzly defensive end Keith Burke and running back Damon Boddie were dismissed from their coaching duties after the two admitted they had used marijuana in their dorm room early Tuesday. They pleaded guilty Thursday in Municipal Court to misdemeanor possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Interim athletic director Kathy Noble said she has recommended that scholarships that were Burke’s and Boddie’s compensation for coaching be revoked.
Sophomore wide receiver Trevor Woods, 20, of Diamond Bar, Calif., pleaded guilty to the same charges.
All three were given deferred sentences, fined $75 and ordered to pay $20 in costs on each charge.
