Mitchell Shoots 7-Under-Par

Sundance golf pro Chris Mitchell put together a 7-under-par 65 to win Monday’s Washington Trust Bank Pro-Am at the Univerity of Idaho Golf Course in Moscow, beating Don Rasmussen by three stokes.

Rasmussen, the host pro, led halfway through the day after shooting 7 under par on the front nine.

A total of 13 professionals and four amateurs broke par.

There will not be a Pro-Am next weekend, but the season will resume on Sept. 11 at the Liberty Lake Golf Course.

Chiefs tickets available

Tickets for the Spokane Chiefs’ home opener against the Tri-City Americans on Sept. 30th, are now on sale at G&B Select-A-Seat outlets and at the Spokane Chiefs ticket office in the new Spokane Arena.

Gonzaga coach departs

Caryn Choate-Deeds, track and field and cross country coach at Gonzaga University, has accepted an assistant coaching position at Montana State. She will be replaced by Kevin Swaim, the director of the Crosby Student Center.
