Transportation Group Set Goals At Meeting

A committee to consider Kootenai County transportation needs held its first meeting this week.

Local government and the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce Transportation organized the Kootenai County Area Transportation Team. Members met Tuesday to set goals, including a master plan, coordinating route developments, and a communication network to direct projects and involve taxpayers. Possible answers to traffic congestion and safety issues also were discussed.

The group includes representatives from the county, cities, highway districts, private industry and the Idaho Transportation Department.
