Tree Festival Will Help With Visits To Doctors

Area residents without transportation to medical services will soon be able to visit Kootenai Medical Center and Ironwood doctors’ offices thanks to funds from the annual Festival of Trees.

The festival, which was held Nov. 24-27, raised $72,800 to purchase vans to transport patients to and from health care appointments.

Over 8,000 supporters attended the four-day event held at The Coeur d’Alene Resort and sponsored by the Kootenai Medical Center Foundation. In the seven years the festival has taken place, it has raised $483,000 for the foundation and various hospital projects.
