Ccs Women Stop Wenatchee Valley

Basketball

The Community Colleges of Spokane’s women’s basketball team evened its record on the season to 4-4 after defeating Wenatchee Valley 65-41 at the Olympic Crossover at Bremerton, Wash., on Sunday.

CCS took a 35-10 halftime lead and were never challenged. CCS’s Kelly

Gaines was once again the team’s leading scorer with 17 points. However, as was the case in a win Saturday night, Spokane had 11 players in the scoring column.

Defense was off for the holidays as Tacoma beat Spokane Community College (5-4) in a shootout at the NWAACC Crossover Tournament in Olympia.

Tacoma’s 6-foot-5 Cameron Banks scored 42 points. CCS’s Kyle York scored 26 points.
