Who’s A Prima Whitney, And Why Is She So Angry?
Being a celebrity reporter isn’t exactly like covering the courts, either those with juries or those with 7-foot-tall athletes. But it isn’t always fun, either.
After holding up a “Waiting to Exhale” publicity shoot with co-star Angela Bassett, Whitney Houston wouldn’t greet one reporter until her publicist told her, “He’s nice.”
Then she said why: “They’re devils to me, and they’re out to eat my flesh.” Specifically, Houston dismissed rumors that her husband, Bobby Brown, 26, is a womanizer: “I haven’t caught him yet. If I had, I’d break his… neck.”
As for rumors that she prefers the company of women, Houston said, “Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God,” she said. “I am not a lesbian, I wish they’d stop SAYING it. I have a daughter, for God’s sake. What do they mean by this?”
Loose talk
Actress-of-sorts Tori Spelling on her forthcoming television movie “Coed Call Girl” (on “Entertainment Tonight”): “For all you guys, there will be some legs and body shown.”
She’s still wondering about who’s the boss
Alyssa Milano turns 23 today.
The big deal, pal, is that she’s still married
British property developer Christopher Whalley, 40, isn’t exactly delighted that the media know he’s seeing Princess Diana. “I’m not one of her regular friends,” Whalley told the London Daily Mirror. “So she’s phoned me a couple of times - what’s the big deal?”
At the same time they appreciate her role in ‘Godfather 3’
The latest collaborative effort of director Paul Verhoeven and screenwriter Joe Eszterhas attracted at least one fan. “‘Showgirls’ was a brilliant comedy,” says Sofia Coppola, daughter of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola. “Everyone will realize what a classic it is in 10 years.”
What about that Spam sandwich, wink-wink, nudge-nudge
John Cleese isn’t amused by Monty Python. Of the comedy routine he created, the Ministry of Silly Walks, Cleese told the London Daily Mail, “It was all embarrassingly awful. All these years and nobody had ever said anything. Are they being polite, or haven’t they noticed?”
To make matters worse, it was a cheap vintage
Photographer Aldo Martinuzzi dodged a champagne bottle but not the glass thrown by World Cup skier Alberto Tomba. Martinuzzi, who once distributed nude photos of Tomba, claims the incident was intentional. Tomba says it was an accident. “I was trying to throw the cup to my sister to avoid it being stolen,” Tomba said. “I received a push and the cup accidentally fell on the photographer. I apologize, but I want to add he was probably punished, inadvertently, for his misbehavior.”
Would that be as in Allyson, Cleaver and Jones
He may have a funny-sounding name, but no matter. Because actor Brian Benben does have one claim to superstar status: He’s married to actress Madeleine Stowe, who is pregnant with their first child. “It’s a girl,” Stowe says. “She’s due in June.”
