Gu Concert Will Be On Ksps

Gonzaga University’s 109th Candlelight Concert will be aired on KSPS-Channel 7 on Monday at 3 p.m.

The concert, recorded by the university’s broadcast studies department, was performed by the Gonzaga Choir on Dec. 8 and 9 at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church.

The program intertwines a narrative of the Christmas story with music. The choir, sometimes accompanied by members of the Gonzaga Wind Ensemble, the Gonzaga Symphony and the Spokane Valley United Methodist Church Hand Bell Choir, performs pieces ranging from medieval processional songs to well-known English, French and American carols.

The Gonzaga Choir recently was invited to perform at the National Music Educators Convention in Kansas City, Mo., in April.
