Mead Frustrates Lake City After Ho-Hum First Half

Lake City of Coeur d’Alene discovered a different Mead team after the first half on Friday.

Mead (4-3), which allowed 21 points in the first quarter, clamped down after halftime and beat the visiting Timberwolves 58-48 in a non-league game. Lake City (4-3) scored just four points in the fourth quarter.

Adam Morris put Mead ahead for good with a driving layup in the third quarter.

Damian Long led the Panthers with 22 points and 11 rebounds.

John Chatfield had three 3-pointers and 21 points for the Timberwolves.

Kettle Falls (2-4) beat Kendrick, Idaho, 72-50 in the consolation game. No details were reported.
