Loose Truck Wheel Kills Woman

Associated Press

A 30-year-old Kennewick, Wash., woman was killed Friday when the car she was driving was hit by a wheel that broke off the trailer of a tractor-trailer rig heading the other direction on Interstate 84.

Idaho State Police were withholding the woman’s name Friday evening pending notification of relatives. The woman’s 7-year-old daughter was a passenger in the car. She was listed in serious condition.

A State Police dispatcher said the truck driven by Gerald Paradee, 41, of Modesto, Calif., was westbound on the freeway near Wendell shortly after 10 a.m. when an axle broke on the flatbed trailer he was pulling.
